Pastor Allen and First Lady Constance Shuler

Rev. Allen J. Shuler, Jr., is a native of Macon, Georgia. He is the oldest son of Bishop Allen J. Shuler, Sr., and Evangelist Sallie Shuler. Rev. Shuler faithfully served our great nation for 25 years in the US Army.

 

Rev. Shuler’s received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and Water Baptism at age 9. Rev. Shuler accepted his call to preach the Gospel on July 22, 1991.   Pastor Shuler was installed as the shepherd of Olivet Baptist Church on June 30, 2013. Before coming to Olivet Baptist Church, Pastor Shuler faithfully served under the pastorate of Rev. Stanley Moore at Progressive Baptist Church of Davenport, IA as youth-pastor and the young-adult Sunday school teacher.

  

Pastor Shuler holds a Bachelor of Science from Austin Peay State University; a Masters in Theological Studies from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, Lynchburg, VA; and certification in Pastoral Studies from the Urban Alternative, Dallas, TX.  Pastor Shuler has received numerous awards for his military and community service to include the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star for meritorious service to our country.

Beyond any earthly success, Pastor Shuler is truly humbled and count it a blessing to be chosen by God to serve the members of Olivet Baptist Church.  He truly loves the Lord, people, and deeply believes every man, woman, and child can have a prosperous life: a life that lives as Jesus lived; loves like Jesus loved, and serves like Jesus served.

 

Pastor Shuler is married to the lovely Mrs. Constance V. Allen of Davenport, IA.  She is the daughter of Mr. Clim and Ms. Wardean Allen. First Lady Shuler has served the Department of Defense for over 20 years. First Lady Shuler is a woman of God who enjoys encouraging and enriching the lives of others. Lady Shuler believes every woman is the apple of God’s eye and that they must continue seeking out the best God has for them. For in doing so, they will reap the heavenly benefits that come when women love God, themselves, their families, and our fellow man. First Lady Shuler takes great joy in spending quiet time with the Lord, being with her family, reading, and putting together the best fashion and design concepts.

 

Pastor and First Lady Shuler have seven beautiful children: Takia, Dana, Jateria, Jasmin, Temperance, Morgan, and Allen III; and they are proud grandparents of seven grandchildren. Apart from enjoying his family, Rev Shuler loves fishing, fitness, hunting, participating in sports, and reading.

Our History

March 15, 1963; Founded in home of Eular Rhodes Dorsey - Rock Island, IL; 1st Pastors Rev. A.B. Collins and Donald Robinson. 

 

April 7, 1963; Moved to Immanuel Temple Church; Notable reverends T. Spencer, Mr. Collins, Roy H. Cheers, and  B.J. Faison.
